Data Rack Busway Systems 250A-800A

The KD-III data rack busway offers a highly flexible and reliable Busway system, with its open channel design. The data rack busway also has the capability to provide metering at the busway and tapoff box level in data center white space environments. Tap off boxes are able to be plugged-in, removed, and relocated anywhere along the busway while the equipment is energized, all while being vendor agnostic with regard to components for energy monitoring and circuit breaking. The customer has the option between Aluminum and Copper conductors, with up to 6 conductors in a busway run (3PH, 2N, 1 Ground or PE). In addition, while the mono-block joint design provides easy and secure connections for long life operations, IP 23D protection ensures high operation safety.

Why Data Rack Busway?

Data rack busway not only reduces the installation of power in data halls, but is also more flexible (allowing for moves, adds and changes) as well as more capable, with advanced circuit protection and metering options, than a traditional whip cabling setup.

Frequently Asked Questions

The EAE KD-III is a high-performance data center busway (also known as data center bus duct) engineered for scalable overhead power distribution in white space environments. Featuring copper and aluminum busbar conductors with up to 6 conductors per run, this modular system replaces traditional whip cabling with a more flexible, metered, and cost-effective solution
The KD-III supports both copper and aluminum busbar conductors with up to 6 conductors per run in a 3-phase, 2-neutral, 1 ground (or PE) configuration. Customers can select the conductor material based on their budget and performance requirements.
Data center busways are widely used across IT & telecom, BFSI (banking, financial services, insurance), government, healthcare, retail & e-commerce, and hyperscale cloud service providers. Any facility requiring scalable, reliable power distribution in white space benefits from busway technology.
The KD-III features IP 23D protection, ensuring safe operation against solid objects and water spray. The mono-block joint design further enhances connection security for long-life operations.
Yes. KD-III tap-off boxes are designed for hot-swapping — they can be plugged in, removed, and relocated anywhere along the busway while the system remains live, ensuring zero downtime during data center reconfigurations.
